About Us

Critical Pet Rescue is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing placement services to displaced animals in the Southern Oregon area.

C.P.R. was founded with the desire to provide placement services for the increasing number of pets abandoned at county shelters and those needing re-homing in the Southern Oregon area. We are open to taking in animals from outside Oregon as room is available, and based on a case by case basis.

C.P.R. operates with a “Safe Haven” policy in accepting animals for re-homing. Animals are placed in foster homes where they are cared for while awaiting their forever home.  Animals will be up to date on required vaccinations and all animals of age are spayed/neutered prior to adoption, unless they are too young at the time of adoption (or confirmed a health risk by a veterinarian). If they have not been altered by the time of adoption due to a young age, arrangements will be made with adopter to have it done and follow up will happen to be sure we are not adding to the pet over population problem.

The founders of Critical Pet Rescue each came to the group with their own personal skills as related to the rescue and re-homing of displaced pets. Some with years of experience in rescuing and re-homing pets, most with experience in fostering at need animals. Some with a history in the animal shelter system.  Above all, the founders came together as a group of individuals with the same goal of helping at-risk, in-need pets find their deserved chance at loving forever homes.

SERVICES

Critical Pet Rescue is a volunteer based group and we are always looking for more people ready to help. Thinking there is nothing you could possibly do to help? You aren’t looking to adopt, you rent and couldn’t foster, and time?, are you kidding!

Do not count yourself out, there are so many ways to help that no matter who you are, or how little time you have there is a way for you to help. Sharing posts, telling your friends not on Facebook about us. Transport help or Adoption event help are just a few.

We Need You!

We all have our own stories of how we ended up looking for a new home. Please take a moment to visit our Facebook page and read ours.

The current pets available are pictured on the main page with names and ages. All of our friends spend their time with C.P.R. in foster homes suited to their needs.    If you are interested in meeting any of these loving companions contact us at criticalpetrescue@gmail.com or 541-450-0002
Looking for Homes
Intake Process

Critical Pet Rescue is focused on helping animals in the Southern Oregon area, but will help out of area pets with consideration done on a case by case basis.  Our focus is to help pets who are facing an uncertain future either in the shelter system or possibly becoming part of it.

We are available to help animals in the shelter system that may be on a time frame, or those who are just not thriving in the shelter environment.  Shelter animals will be transferred to the full care and control of C.P.R. by the shelter that currently houses them.  We also offer an option to those pets who may be facing becoming a part of the shelter system; either because their owners can no longer keep them, or they were found lost and abandoned. (C.P.R. will take in stray animals but will not re-home them until all required hold times and requirements for finding the original owner is met)

All pets surrendered to C.P.R. will need to have record of any vaccinations, spay/neuter, or other medical history if available, we cannot accept verbal word on vaccinations etc.  If they are in need of vaccinations, spay/neuter or medical care C.P.R. will provide it upon acceptance as a C.P.R. pet, we Will Not provide these services to an animal before they have been surrendered to the rescue.

While C.P.R. is dedicated to helping animals who may otherwise not make it through the shelter system, we are unable to take on animals with a history of unprovoked aggression towards humans or other animals.

Critical Pet Rescue Can Not take in every animal in need, intake will be based on room in our foster homes, behavior and medical needs.  Please understand if we have to tell you “no”, it’s not because we don’t care, it is because we know we can’t provide what is needed.
